In 2012 a small group of car clubs wished to come together as a Non-Profit organization based on using modern technology while at the same time protecting their clubs, club members and club events. The organization further wished to encourage the preservation, driving, and showing of all cars and vehicles. This included, but wasn’t limited to, American or Foreign designed and manufactured automobiles and trucks across the entire spectrum of; Antique, Vintage, Classic, Racing, High Performance, Street Rod, Hot Rod, Muscle, Rat Rods, Low Riders as well as, any modern import and domestic cars and or trucks.
With all of the ideas being brought forth by the club member representatives the fledgling organization adopted the motto: “From the Automotive Beginnings thru the Modern Era and welcoming All Automotive Enthusiast & Hobbyist!”
From this motto the Southern California Car Club Council was born with our By-laws being adopted in early 2013. Immediately the group applied for and received Non-Profit status from the State of California and is currently processing their federal 501 c 3 status. Next on the agenda was arraigning for “primary event liability insurance” for events produced by the SCCCC and their membership clubs. Not only have we event insurance for our membership but group discounts are now available for all membership clubs members of the SCCCC and their classic rides through our insurance supplier.
While all of the legalities were being processed the SCCCC created a professionally maintained internet website that is updated daily and has internet links with several car club council websites. Anyone who wishes can quickly link to various different councils, clubs and their events without searching the internet. Support of our website is done so via our yearly double flash internet sponsor links whom we thank.
When surfing the SCCCC websites “Home page” you’ll find a calendar of events page that breaks into weekly, by-weekly, monthly and weekend events. (www.SouthernCaliforniaCarClubCouncil.com). All SCCCC membership club events receive a “Sanctioned” asterisk by their event information thus denoting that the council recommends attendance in this event. From club cruises to car shows to picnics and seminars, stories or charitable events the website covers it all. You’ll also find specialty stories, videos, U-tube links and photographs concerning, other events. If you’re looking for automotive trends, as well as state and federal legislation and bulletins, they are all listed on our website. Club members within the council and the internet public are able to keep up with our council at any time or day as we electronically post monthly agendas, minutes, by-laws, membership forms, the current roster and links to them, classifieds, stolen rides and more. The SCCCC also keeps in close contact with the membership reps through E-mail blasts on any subject that requires immediate attention by clubs or their representatives prior to our monthly general meetings that are open FREE to the public and anyone else wishing to attend.
Recently someone asked how they could join our organization? A great question with an easier answer.. “You only need to belong to a car club who wishes to join and the “Southern California Car Club Council” and the council defines a club as follows:
A group of enthusiasts who share an organized common interest in, American or Foreign designed and manufactured automobiles and or trucks. All of us who partake in the automotive hobby also enjoy the sports camaraderie that it brings. As a club, they may or may not hold regular scheduled meetings. And as a club they share more than an active curiosity with the automotive industry through our clubs events, car shows, socially and or through industry support. Whether the clubs interest is in early or modern marques… “We welcome all years!”
