ive been there before, it sucks now. MAWTS-1 is the gayest squadron in the world. last time i was there you couldnt go anywhere without a buddy. not even the smoke pit. hopefully it will be better. and i already told my MGUNZ that i am taking my car, so should have a little better time

sucks

Well that sucks I guess it has changed since 2001 huh? When I was there my old OIC had just left our shop in Pendleton and was the MAWTS Ordnance OIC. So we had a blast and acted a damn fool. WE partied our asses off I was on the F.A.R.P team. I was Cobras so we had farp sites that we had to drive out into the desert and camp out. So when we werent camping out at a site we had the time at Yuma completely OFF. We would camp for 3 days then get 4 days off every week. It kicked major ass. Specially cause our OIC was my old OIC and he was a boozer and we all took beer out to the farp sites the last Helo would take off at like 10pm we would kick up a fire break out the lawn chairs and beer and wait till morning to start it again. We cooked steaks out there, drank beer, played with our NVG's and even caught a Coyote in a snare. HA HA. I went to three WTI's while I was in. I was farp team two times and Night crew the other and even that was great. A lot of work, but there were no stupid ass rules as long as everyone showed up and did their work, and werent too hung over. I guess the grip on the marines now has gotten a bit tighter since I was in. To bad too, cause the Marine Corps should be good memories for when you get out and tell your kids and family. I have a shit ton of good, funny, and just plain kick ass stories from Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Iraq, Guam, Australia, Spain, all over the USA!!!!!!!, and other places.
