I will tell you that this trip was by far the most heart felt trip I have ever taken as a Marine! The island was by far the most eye opening thing I have ever seen. I tried to put myself in the Marines's shoes that stormed this place. It was just mind boggling how any of them survived with the amount of caves and pill boxes they had set up. The terrain, bad intel they received, weather, and people shooting at them from all angles. We did the almost 10 mile hump in a little over 3 1/2 hours and I have a big ass blister to prove it but man oh man was it beautifull. I actually lost 9 pounds from this trip....lol It made me sweat out all my beer lol.Hope ya'll enjoy the pics. The other guy you will see is W/S's member OTTSKEE. The red neck with the big red F-250 that races with us. Semper Fi

Yeah, it was pretty damn hot. lol!! I agree though. It was deff one of the most heartfelt trips I think anyone that appreciates the Marine Corps could go on. And being able to leave a little something of yourself on the island is something you can carry with you the rest of your life.

I am still reeling from the trip. Could you imagine fighting for an island and only going feet per day. We fought very hard for this island so our aircraft could have an "in Between" area to land.
