Time to start looking for a stang!

So I just got back from the bank with my mom. Finally convinced my parents to co-sign a loan. We got approved for up to 10,000. They will pay 90% of blue book value. For Blue book value determination. 2004 and older goes by the lower grade BB and 2005+ goes to the higher.

So now comes the FUN part! Finding a car! The lady recommended getting an 05+ but there's really no way to find an 05+ for that price.

So any help finding some cars is appreciated! I've been with WS for almost a year trying my hardest to get a mustang and finally will!

Just got back from looking at an 04 GT and it looks really good. very very clean!

Edit: Here's pics of the car - It's a DSG very very clean. Inside out. Engine is spotless. My dad actually likes it and he said exactly, "At least if you screw up like your sister did I can at least have a car I like"

I think there might be another mustang coming in the future ;)

My dad wants it to be pretty much stock... And I'd rather have a car that wasn't ran hard. The person I'm buying this for works for the PD. She sounded like a dispatcher the way she talked.

i would say it depends on who you buy the car from, if you buy it with wheels, intake, exhaust, from a 45 yr old man i think you would be just as good off as buying a stock car at the dealership.... but i agree that the car should have a little to no wear on it as far as engine and ect....

I saw that car for sale a few days ago. It looks very clean and well taken care of. Sounds nice too. Has an aftermarket exhaust.

Car looks good. I think I saw it on CL a couple of days ago, too. Good Luck with it. DSG is a nice color.

Sounds like your dad need to sign up with us, too. LOL!

Haha. I'm sure his next car will be a stang after he drives this. Soon as my mom's van gets paid off it's his turn to get a car for himself.

Car is a private party sale, has a magnaflow muffler. Engine looks all stock. It does have the Cobra rims though :D

And very good price, 7900. Miles are a little high at 110k. But other than that it seems almost perfect.

Don't rush to buy it. I'm telling you, there are a lot of 99-04, especially 02-04's with a lot lower miles and at a lower price too. Just check CL, auto traders, and any of those other car website. There's plenty out there.

Yeah, but I've looked around and a lot of what I'm seeing has X-Pipes w/o Cat's, and they're also more expensive than my bank will finance. They will only do 90% of the Blue Book value. So I don't have too much leeway. And the lady also offered to have it smogged before I buy it since it's due up in January without me having to ask about it.

With a loan of less than $10k, if the terms are 36 or 48 months, my advice is to send in double payments for at least the first year. That will dramatically cut the interest you pay and you will find yourself in a better equity position down the road incase you want to trade.

Also, with the mileage it has, you don't want to be paying, 4 years later, for a car with 150k+ and have to choose between paying the car payment, or paying for repairs.

Send in more than your minimum payment. You'll be glad you did :hello:

The Term is 60 months. And I plan on sending in 500/month until I'm unable to afford that. I have no bills right now so getting this car payed off real fast while I can is the best thing I can do. There's also no penalty for paying it off early.

very good to hear that. Pay as much as you can, and when you can't...just pay the smaller minimum.

There's a good feeling when you pay off a car and get that title in the mail
