tranny trouble

ok. so i have a 2001 SVT COBRA.with the stock 5 speed manual tranny. for some reason, probably me playin and racin too much, it wont stay in second gear and it wont go into first unless i'm at a dead stop and under 1000 rpms. is it rebuildable or would it be better to replace it altogether with a beefier tranny. i'm tryin to stay on a budget though.
