We got boarded yesterday!

Yesterday, myself and some friends went out with my dads friends on his 36' bayliner. It was cool at first since we went to the barge in mission bay where boats get their chum and stuff for fishing, and there was like a gazillion seals on it! Then one started following us and tried jumping on the boat... But yeah, about 30 minutes after that, we were stopped by the US Coast Guard. Apparently, it wasn't anything big, but they boarded us and did a "safety check." It was weird having 3 armed guys on board with bright reflective life jackets so everyone could tell. And pretty much every boat that went by, slowed down and watched us... That was funny.

kinda like how when you're pulled over for a warning about a mod done on a car. EVERYONE slows down and checks.

Except usually when you get pulled over on the water, they don't board you... They just stay on their boat and write a ticket. But here, they actually got on our boat! So it's like having 3 cruiser behind you, and having 5 officers looking a your car while you're in hand cuffs on the hood! Because it's not something you see everday. The CG was real nice though and was impressed that we actually all the required safety gear. We even had a bunch not required.

They were not just doing a safety check they were also checking to see if u guys may have had drugs and if u guys were hiding anything or acting strange. They have caught a lot of boats coming up from Mexico with drugs pretending to be fisherman.

That makes sense, and I have nothing against what they did. If it's going to stop some illegal drugs and illegal immigrants from getting into our country, what's wrong with giving them 15 minutes of the day so they can make sure that boats aren't bringing anything bad into the country?!
