I use Mobile 1, 5W20, and I change it about every 3500 miles. I've only got 10k on it now, so its only had 4 changes including the oil drop at 500 miles.

One of the funny things about doing all the mods I've done to mine is the fact that I can no longer get a jack under the front end because it is so much lower now. I have to put my smaller floor jack under the punkin and lift it high enough to get my big floor jack under the middle on a frame rail, and then I lift the whole damn side. Makes wheel and brake work much easier, tho.

I dunno, man... I really have fallen for the straight axle on my '06. Hooks much nicer now that it has been tweaked a tad.

I use Ford recommended oil. I figured it came with that oil so I continue to use it. Plus having life time oil changes from Ford it's worth it

I didnt get the life time changes , but I prefer to work on my own car. I dont trust just anyone. The wifes mini van went in for a oil change when we first got it at one of these quickie lube places. They stripped the pan nd the bolt for the oil pan.. They are in such a hurry..
I run Mobil 1 in my stang and change it every 3000 miles on dot..

After the gear installation debacle at the Ford dealer, I will be doing ALL of my own work from now on. Including setting up my 4.56s and cams this winter. I am NOT in a hurry.

yeah i dont trust the dealer, i believe the recommended amount of oil for the new edges is 6qts, i found out that putting 7qts is a must...found it out on svtp

yup, and the dealer only puts 6 qts, so if it blows up, its not their fault, and plus i enjoy working on the car, it gives me a valid excuse no to do boring stuff with the woman, ex. shopping, etc

Amen, wiked...

Any excuse will do to work on my car... I could just walk around it polishing it for hours on end, but I think they would lock me up. The family already thinks I have gone back to my childhood.

Little do they know...

yeah, working on your own car is a lost art, it clears my mind. and plus, if anything goes wrong, i have noone else to blame but my self.

Indeed it is a lost art. One thing I have noticed though, is the fact that I haven't lost the feeling of pride about my car. Like "that is mine, I built it/modded it myself" and people say "nice car, man."

Yep it is nice being at a show and seeing kids eyes light up or having them look over your car checkin out all the hard work you put in it.. " that is not factory is it" I personaly like after I wash her up asking my 4 yr old you want to go for a ride? He is to cute! Puts his hands on hips and says "sure, Daddy can we smoke the tires I wont tell mommy"
