Which Flywheel for my new Stage 3

Sick of smelling the heavy duty clutch currently installed. My tires start to break loose and then the clutch starts to give out and 2nd gear is never available. I purchased an F1 Stage 3 clutch that includes pilot, TOB, alignment tool, spring plate and 6 blade disc. Now I'm wondering about my flywheel. Currently it is OEM. I want a light weight durable flywheel but I'm lost when all the choices are thrown at me. I see 28oz, 50oz, billet, steel, and combinations. HELP!!!! 87 Mustang GT 249hp, tremec 1550 trans and soon to be 3.73 rear end. Lower end of engine is stock.

CWO your car is a 50oz in 157tooth and I would recommend a FMS M-6375-C302A Flywheel...

I would take a look at your Dyno sheet and see what RPM the power band takes effect, I had a friend put a lightwieght fly wheel in car and it wold drop out of the power band every time he shifted. So going the lightest can really hurt performance.

southland clutch. Kim, an employee there, helped me pick out a decent clutch/flywheel combo and it didnt cost me an arm and a leg.

Combination, that is a good idea. I'll call F1 racing and see what they recommend. Then I'll contact Southland and see what they recommend and how well the stories match. Thanks DSG

this one has been machined out to be lighter and i can run either a 11" clutch disk or a 10.5. i went with the 10.5 king cobra kit ive heard alot of good things about it.

Well it finally happened. I was talking about buying the flywheel and how it would crunch the finances. I told the wife I should wait til next payday....hoping she would say go ahead. Ooops, she said, "If you didn't spend all that money on the club car you could go tonight". :nonono:
