Whipple re-schedule

I was thinking that we should try and re-sched whipple for one of the weekends in June...
There are a handful of us up here that will be on the boat the first weekend but what do you all think about the weekend of the 13th, 20th, 27th ?? Emilio, let me know if you would like me to PM Mike@whipple and inquire about these dates... Or maybe he will see this thread and chime in...

I think that we need to make sure that we have a date that Whipple can support before we set a date. That is, just to prevent what happened last time.

I understand that, and as I'm really gun-ho about going to the next one that is scheduled - alot of peeps down here went to great lengths to get that day off or whatever and it fizziled out. I was only making a statement to try and prevent the same or worse from happening, is all.

Weekend of the 13th is not good. We have our BBQ on the 14th. In fact, you all in Central Valley are invited. Its going to involve a couple of other Mustang clubs and an impromptu car show. Let us know if you would like to join us. If you guys need a place to stay, I'm sure some of us can accomodate. In fact I have a room or two to anyone interested in coming.

OK; and in case they do the same flaky thing as last time, have an alternate activity planned. Like a run to Palomar by way of Borrego Springs. I hate to think of anyone getting up at 3:15 again and having no place to go except after someone's phone in some dark place.

Mike @whipple told me when I went there to pick a date and they WILL make it happen. I will just PM him and tell him about the last two weekends in June and see what he comes up with. and I will let you all know.

I have no more sick or vacation time available. Used it all up for the last date.

Yeah I know Sub... that really suxs. Maybe they could have it on a Sun and you all could roll up sat night... We'll see. I just called Mike and he should be calling me back soon.

That would be cool for me but I don't think it will work for others on Sunday unless Monday is a holiday. Thanks though.

Gonna be HOT, reschedule for the FALL!!!!!!

By then Sub and others will have vacation time saved up and it gives Whipple PLENTY of time to plan! And by then, the race car will be running and have raced several times.

Logic says in the fall when cooler!

So, can we stand back a moment and allow LOGIC to assist us in making this decision?

Fresno is one HOT SOB town in June, July, Aug, Sept and sometimes well past that. Why drive through the desert and risk overheating...If you DON'T HAVE TO?

Let the people who burned their last favors, vacation time or sick time up for the cancelled trip have a few months to earn a few vacation days off or like me, get in good with the "Boss Lady" enough to bargain for another "trip".

This allows all of us to save up for the trip. Some members for the last scheduled trip had unforseen last minute expenses and were questionable at the last moment and weren't sure if they could actually go. Planning 4-5 months out from now gives everyone time to sock away for the trip or to buy something from Whipple when they get there.

Driving through the desert in sweltering heat with kids in the back whining....Not my idea of a dream trip.

Let's give Mike and the Whipple crew a TON of lead time and let them put on a spread worthy of Wickedstangs and if we take our time and plan this right, it will be ten times better than what we WERE gonna have a week ago. This time will be a no-brainer since all the legwork is done.
