1988 FORD MUSTANG LX
ATT00088.jpg

Back in August 2008, The project started to come together when our generous members donated $1500 dollars for an 1988 LX. The car was missing the engine and transmission, however is was loaded with many extras to include:

" UPR Rear Suspension
" Full Roll Cage
" Tubular K Member
" Tubular A Arms
" Drag Shocks
" Subframe Connectors
" Aeromotive 1000 Fuel Pump
" Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator

Our next adventure was to find an engine for the project car. An unfortunate meeting between a tree and a 1995 MK VIII provided us a donor engine and transmission. After cutting away the damage, the wiring harnesses, computer, engine, and transmission were removed from the donor car.

To add some style, the local junkyard provided an intake from a 1997 Lincoln LSC

We had the intention to using a hydrabooster braking system from a 2002 Mustang GT but, with all the plumbing issues and such a close fit with the new 4.6 we decided to canx the whole hydrobooster setup and go with Maximum Motorsports Manual Brake Conversion Kit:

The project is now in the mock-up stage and we predict completion in June 2009.

With our motor In and trying to fabricate the K-member that came with the car and the installation of the JBA headers we were having all sorts of installation/alignment issues. We called on the support of Suspension Specialist Mr. Anthony Jones owner of AJE Racing and ask for his assistance.

Mr. Jones went beyond our expectation and donated a complete front suspension to our Race Car.

All, We received The Detail Zone Wiring Harness today...:)

All, I like to say that our project is coming closer to being complete thanks to The Detail Zone
100_0486.jpg

The Detail Zone has taken all the guess work out and made the conversion of the 4.6L a simple process. I receieved the box today and everything in it is labeled to a T. Even the none mechically incline would not have a problem installing this kit.

The Kit we ordered was Ford Fuel Injection MK-93 due to the engine coming out of a 1995 MARK VIII

Once you open the box you will see the complete set and all the bags labeled individually.
100_0479.jpg

Each package is so detail and come with all connectors.. It tells you were it goes.
100_0473.jpg

All, I have to say is the kit is so detailed... That no wonder why they name the shop The Detail Zone..
100_0487.jpg

They even provide you with a very detailed instruction pack..
100_0489.jpg

The Kit is labeled with packages numbered with #60 thru #83. That is around 24 packages with 2-3 wires in each pack and labeled. They even sent connectors with it.

Don't really want to get to much in detail with the kit due to the very big image attached :) So I will keep my write up short.

Next will be the write up of the installation with images.
