4.6 guys I need your help!

I have a co-worker who has a 97' thunderbird with 4.6l engine. He needs a stock MAF to see if that is what is giving him a check engine light. He is getting a code - "lean condition on bank 1 and bank 2". He needs this asap because he needs a smog. Please let me know if anyone has a stock MAF lying around. Thanks,

Lean Condition on both banks could be a couple things. but maf is a good place to start. I personally dont have a spare but he should also check the voltage going to his fuel pump. and possibly its just his o2 sensors dying? but both at the same time is unlikely

Cat was replaced, O2's are brand new, checked for vacuum leaks. Have net checked pump or maf. Cleaned the maf with electronic cleaner, but no change. Just wanted to swap maf real quick to see if it fixes the problem. I figured there would be a few lying around with all you 4.6ers around here!

Bobby, if you can't find an extra one lying around, I could let you guys use mine to test then just put it back in.

If you cannot find one. The MAF on the race car could be used. Just let me know.

bobby,,, dont know if you saw my thread,,, i have spare parts from my build that im giving away,,, and a spare maf just so happens to be one of those parts!!! pm me or you can gimme a ring when ever i have it in my garage,,,, let him know that either way he cn keep it!! i think mines a bit bigger than his so lemme know!!

im almost posative that it will,,,, if anything you may just need an adjustment with your tune!!!

you could do it using your tuner but it probably wouldn't run as well as it currently does. the canned tuning adjustments are crap compared to a custom tune

Need the fault codes to help you and we might have one.. Have to see...
