I am helping my bro in law with an 03 cobra drivetrain and interior swap into a 91 coupe. Other than alot of trimming and cutting on the firewall to make the steering shaft and 03 hvac box work, it's not too bad. I recomend having access to a plasma cutter and mig for the firewall work. The dash has to have some surgery but not alot, and the door handles have to be moved back. A rollover parts car to rob from works out really well.
bj the mark VIII is getting dropped off here today or tomorrow they bought one and are getting the engine out. i think junk yards should be the first place to look for parts to save moneys
I read orange's post, and agree that the wiring will be TONS harder than just putting a 302, but I think it will be worth it. We just have to be meticulous and get everything out of the donor car before we give it to the junkyard, and we always need to LABEL, LABEL, LABEL. It will be way too tempting to just rip it out as quick as possible, but that will only add to the other end. VP, do you have a reciprocating saw??? We are going to cut off the top of the car to make it easier to get to everything. If you don't have one, I will have to find one. Could be done with air cutter, but it would be much easier with a sawzall. I will also bring some halogens, anyone else gonna bring some lights?
Sorry I let everyone down for getting it today, we had a problem on the boat, and they made everyone stay real late so we could talk about it.
No you sick little monkey....I ran out of room in the storage area out back. So I keep my welder, grinder, air guns, and air chisels in the top of the closet.......
So why does a single guy that is always online have "toys" hmmmmmmmmmm
I think we should part the car out on CL for anything that is worth a crap.
Seats, interior trim, that kind of stuff......wheels....Does it have 5 lugs? how bout the rear axle? can we use that? what about the lights and stuff.....
