725hp Super Snake

Here's an article about the Super Snake. I might miss out on the conversion unless things change. I've paid the deposit since last year, but not sure about going through with it.

:sigh:

I wish I did know him. Wow, very lucky to have that car. I haven't really kept up with the stats on the snakes

They are fairly heavy, probably around 3600-3800 pounds. Is what I remember, I have a magazine with all the stats, I will post them up at 4:00PM when I get home.

I like how they take a $48,000 car and then change the hood ($1500), Wheels ($3,000), put a V6 spoiler on it ($250), Carbon fiber Mirrors ($125), Upgraded Supercharger ($7,000) and call it a super snake. You get no credit for the take-off parts that you are already paying for int eh $48,000 car. Sure there are other parts, but you could DIY this project on your own for $10,000 and have the same performance out of a GT500 and then customize to your own style.

The $48,000 becomes a $110,000 Cobra here at the dealerships after mark-up (Not including TTL) and they act like they are rare, but in reality all of the dealers were forced to take 2 of them into their inventory at a minimum if they wanted to get their alotment of other cars and they call them RARE. You can't tell me that thing is rare when they got one in the same exact color sitting right next to it in the showroom and no one has them reserved.

the KR has the v6 spoiler. Super Snake keeps the Shelby spoiler. The KR has 18" wheels. the Super Snake has 20" wheels. The KR only has 540hp, Super Snake 605 or 725.

I didn't pay over sticker when I got the car and the deposit I paid was from a piece of acerage I sold that was given to me. I'd say that so far...I'm very ahead.

Something is only as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it.

If the car had a markup, I would never have bought it. If I had to use my own money for the deposit, I would have never ordered the Super Snake package.

You are right though, they are not so RARE, or even hot in the market right now. Lots of dealers are just sitting on them paying huge flooring costs. The only advantage to having Shelby Autos do the work, is keeping serialized by Shebly from a collectors stand point.

I'm still debating on wether or not spend the balance to get it done, or use that money to pay off my 08 F150 and not have payments on that. I still have time to think about it.

Plus I do get to keep all my take-off parts. They get wrapped in a pallet for me and I'll load them into the trailer when the car gets picked up.............if I do it

Precisely..... I think Modular Muscle was thinking it was the KR.

The KR package is only a tune, wheels, V6 spoiler, hood, badges, stripes and engine dress kit. And that sky rockets the price WAY high. Plus, on that package, since its a pre-title package, you don't get to keep the take off parts which are part of the oiginal window sticker price. There's no offset on the conversion price either. I think that's what Modular Muscle was hinting to.

The Super Snake package has still more goodies than the KR, more power than the KR, yet thousands less.

true, but look at the Shelby's from the 60's. Less valuable ones have been modified to custom tastes. The more valuable packages are survivors, concourse quality restorations, and cars altered by Shelby American.

Hopefully the same will apply to this generation 20-40 years from now. As little as I drive my Mustangs, they will probably put my grandkids through law school :D (thinking ahead since I'm 34)

my 07 Gt500 with 8k miles, 93 cobra with 23k miles and 66 fb gt with 60k miles....I think they will surely be collectibles.

You are correct with more performance for less money, but the way I pamper my cars, I'll probably never use thier potential or even drag race them. I see future investment :bo:
