normally a spun rod doesnt effect the way the car runs, just makes noise... are you sure its not just the timing chain??? that would make more sense and is a cheap fix....

A lot of people mistake a stretched or broken timing chain for spun rods bearings

and that would make it run like its on only 4 cylinders

I would check the timing chain... will bet money thats what it is.... when they go it sounds just like a rod knock... also if a coil pack went out.... it will sound the same

well its worth a shot i dnt have much choice i mean there are ALOT of goodies on the car that should still be good so i mean i if sumone has another 4.6 short block then the heads and everything is still good and they have a stage 2 port job and the cams are hp stage 2 cams so like i said there is alot of good **** on the car

He stated in the chat box that he had to add 4qts of oil. I don't think it's the timing chain. I hate to say this, but the parts that you are mentioning to be worth all of the money have the possibility of being damaged, so keep that in mind.

Not if you broke a rod or dropped a valve........ It all just depends on the cranage when you tear into the motor.

4 qt how long did you drive it... and a broke timing chain can make oil disappear as well... valves staying open....

4qt is a lot!
