I'm thinking about going back racing my car.
Going to the track almost every weekend and crewing for the owners of a 7 second car has got me Jonesin' HARD to go back racing at the strip.
I really can't race the engine and turbo combo that's currently in my car in any class, except for NMRA True Street. It won't be consistent enough in any Open Comp style racing with twin turbos.
I currently have a HPP twin turbo kit on the car fully installed, but never ran. My standalone computer is installed and I have a cheap (relatively) Greddy boost controller on it. The engine is a fully built stroker and the same engine combo has gone 7.78 with a 98mm turbo. I have the fuel system planned and all the parts in a box. I have a Bad azz glide with a Neal Chance converter........same combo that went 7.78.... but it's currently set up in another car while I figure out what I want to do with this car.
I could finish the dang car in a month just working a couple hrs a night, but here's my hold up. It's just not what I wanna do with the car. I could go and finish the car and run mid 8s EASY and get booted off the track. My problem is if I went and done that, One, I could lose my license and stupid HPP Racing could claim the glory. I think the latter is my biggest reason. I was sponsored by HPP and they begged me to build the car and put the twins on. Long story short, We had a falling out when I had to go to Phoenix for my nephew when he told me that he had cancer. I had a shop in Phoenix offer me space and tools to work on my car, be cause I knew I needed an outlet to deal with my nephew's cancer. But Manny and Ozzie of HPP Racing thought I was trying to pull something and they jacked my bill up and screwed me outta over $8K
I'm thinking about putting up my turbo kit for sale. My tuner is thinking about buying it, but he's short on cash with getting married and buying a house. His wife does make bank, so he may come thru.
Here's a few old pics:
Turbos are upgraded Precision 62mm journal style with .63 exhaust and .60 compressor AR. The exhaust housings are coated and I have custom blankets for them. Oil lines are plumbed with the proper oil restrictors and a new Cobra oil cooler. Twin wastegates are TurboSmart 38mm UltraGates and a Tial blowoff.
All hot side is JetHot coated and cold side is raw aluminum. The down pipes are JetHot coated with cut out plates and run back to hook up with whatever catback you choose. I used the final charge pipe in another project since I wasn't gonna use it with the Sullivan set up. Another one can be made easy and the MAF can be moved from the fender and placed in clean smooth air in the engine compartment with the style of your choice.
The K-member should go with the kit as it fits with no mods. It's a D&D with fox arms to bring the wheels in for skinnies with the 13 in brakes.
If the new owner wants a Sullivan set up(as pictured), I'll sell a new set up at my cost(upper, lower and fuel rails. Otherwise a stock Mach1 or 99 up Cobra N/A intake will work as that's how the system was designed.
I'll even throw in the front bumper support that's custom fitted for the intercooler.
If you want to run this with the stock computer, I have a VersaFueler so you can run big low impedance injectors.
Anyone that buys this system, I'll sell you any parts that you may want for this particular project at my cost plus shipping.
Base price I'm offering is $4500 plus shipping I'll let the D&D K-member go for $400.
I'll be fully available for any tech help for anyone that buys this kit.
