True, I'm a new guy here, but i figured i would post up this mustang shop! I had a great experience here, and they really deserve the business! It had been a long time waiting, but i finally stepped up to the plate and got new gears:D, god it feels like a new car, its so responsive, easily one of my favorite mods. My center bearings were dead and the oil in the rear end was old(10 years) so all that needed to be rebuilt. I decided with a set of 3.73's, yes i do have an auto, but i do a lot of highway driving, hence why i didn't step up to any bigger ratio. I'm now in love with my car again.

I got it done at a newly opened shop called A Step Above auto, and they did an amazing job, and for a great price too, with a knowledgeable staff:thumbup: My friend Stephen is the co owner of this shop, and was able to hook me up with a killer deal, great experience at this shop, i highly recommend it. any who, got some pictures of the work being done:)

Very cool! Gears are the best bang for the buck. You could have done them yourself with us at the hobby shop for free and you would have learned. I am doing mine next weekend on Sunday. I saw auto and 3.73 and thought waste till you said alot of hwy miles. I ran 4.10 in my 02 GT before the supercharger and after. -shane

If you dont mind my asking, how much was the labor cost?

Alan...the club has people that can help you do them yourself. We have had like 5 Stangs at the Hobby Shop doing different stuff at once. Makes for a great day! I'll be doing mine next Sunday there.-Shane

i had my buddies shop install them because up were i live, shops wanted to charge 800 just for labor to just replace the rear bearings(hence why i also went with the gear swap!) i wasn't a big poster on here when i got the swap done, but i was a damn good deal IMO.

plus, i don't trust myself on working on some parts of my car

I can understand that. I paid about 350 to have my gears installed back in the day and one of my best mods to date. Give yourself a little credit and those that would help you though. Once you learn...you know. -Shane

Congrats. I put 4.30 in my auto. But mine is not a daily. And like Shane said, gear is the best bang for the buck. And that is an excellent price your buddy hooked you up with. But if you want, c'mon out on our next time we go working on cars. I knew nothing about cars before I came on here. I will tell you, I have learned so much just by showing up and being the "gopher" LOL!
