ABS light?

on the way to and form barona the ABS light came on when i stopped at barona and turned her off for a hour and started it was gone but once i got back on the road and was getting on and off the brake (going quick) it came on but it went off when i stopped at autozone to get some towels it turned off again any ideas?

clean the wheel speed sensors they are magnetic and pick up crap

that was a technical answer your car breaks down constantly, the bst technical advice someone can give is to sell that wreck and buy one without constant problems

not hard to do pull the wheels off look at the rotors they have bumps on them there should be a little bar sticking out over them out of the backing plate whit a wire sticking out the other side of the backink plate

didnt you just do the brakes?? maybe that caused a problem

the pick up sensor behind the rotor could be bad as well or shorting out. i had to replace the 2 front ones on the 02 GT i had. about 82.00 each. i would definatley try cleaning them off first though. come to think of it my abs light stayed on so hopefully they are just dirty.

we could put a poll on WS i bet more ppl would want othave my car then yours. how many miles do you have? how old is yours. no **** stuff breaks on a 13 year old car w/ 118k plus miles

try 20 years and 120k on the odo....lol. hook up a reader to it and see exactly what the code says. then go from there.

it looks almost like a spur gear and a little magnetic rod perpindicular to it. if you take off the wheel look behind the rotor and you will see a little rod with alot of shavings on it that is the magnetic pick up.

My 95 v6 has 180k on the odo with no problems. Never a check engine light so far in its life.


And who cares what people want. Most people want cobras but then again talk to most people and they would love to have a specialty mustang way over a cobra.

i would use a rag. i dont think brake cleaner works on magnets.
