Advancement increments

I heard something today pretty interesting and I wanted to know if anyone of you more experienced sailors could confirm. I heard they are going away from paying newly promoted sailors in increments? Something like the top 10% get paid in Jan then everyone until the end of March instead of June. Anyone else heard this or am I following those messdeck rumors? (I cant find anything online about it....)

They useto do that back in the days for all ranks... Now if I am not mistaken it just for E7 and above... Unless they are bringing it back, but I have not heard... I will find out tomorrow..

Chiefs still get paid that way but I dont know about the E6 and below

Back in my days, it was paid in increments. Depends on what percentile you falls in. You get frocked then get paid according to your percentile, so if you're in the top percentile, get paid immediately, then next percentile the following months, then so on and so on.

I understand how it works now, just wondering if this is true or not because I know I will be last increment and get paid in May/June but if this is true I will get paid in March instead. Huge difference!

Back in my days, it was paid in increments. Depends on what percentile you falls in. You get frocked then get paid according to your percentile, so if you're in the top percentile, get paid immediately, then next percentile the following months, then so on and so on.

Yup........that's how it used to be. .............made 1st increment on every time except E-7
