Alternator Pulley Flew Off!!!

Well, coming home from Knott's yesturday and I was getting on it. I notice a noise and then my volt light comes on. I slow down and came to a stop and see this pulley fly from under my car in front of me and come to a rest.:shrug: I am like what the hell is this. It turns out that the housing on my alternator cracked and the pulley fell off. I am going to take pictures today. Has this happened to anyone?

I know that story...

I lost a harmonic balancer on my small block Camaro years ago, and a chunk the size of my fist went right through my stock steel, functional cowl induction hood. Another piece lodged in the driver's side frame rail. I was at 4500 RPM coming down out of the mountains in Colorado. It sounded like a frag grenade went off behind my radiator.

Ya I towed it all the way home.. Lucky for me we had a member JustChillin tow his car to the event. He brought the trailer incase something like this was to happen. He drove is car home and we trailered mine.. JustChilling thanks again.... Good to be in a Mustang Club with lots of Close Friends

Hadn't actually had a pulley fly off. Last week we put another alt on my car and a couple days later started making a terrible noise. We just get to the shop when the amp light comes on. The pulley was warped all to hell. I have a picture somewhere of it.

Crazy stuff. Glad it didn't fly off and hit your car or someone elses.

A tow home for the President.

One of the newest members had a hunch that somthing was going to happen. I drove my pink stang back to san diego being laughed at by BIG RED VIPER with a hot girl in passenger seat. I over heated racing him.
