Well this is an idea that I came up with based on the fact that I disagree with the route being taken with Emilio's car. Oops, I mean the club's car. (Don't start crying you little Trick! and leave my girl out of this! Don't get all jeleous, besides you have CWHoe in your back pocket anyway) lol!
The brakes will be an awesome upgrade, but they were not a must have at the moment. This club has a diverse group and sometimes it doesn't always take money to adapt, overcome and improvise. Some would rather not have the majority know this, but I spoke with Anthony Jones from AJE today and he told me we could fabricate a simple bracket to use the stock brakes. Most of you know that I work On North Island as a Crash Crane Mechanic. I have a few nice tools at my disposal and alot of co-workers with some know how. With that said we have a badass plasma cutter that traces out any pattern you draw up and as it traces your drawing it cuts the metal. Point being we could have made the brackets.
Now that I got that out... what's done is done and we have to move on. The brakes will be a nice addition. It's just frustrating because it's hard for members to keep donating and Todd and Scamelio keep throwing the difference in everytime the car needs something. As much as we would all love to see the car do well we all have our own cars to modify and so do Todd and E.
Now down to my idea after my long drawn out drama filled rant.
First we get together a list of parts/upgrades for the race car. Then Each month we come up with assigned 4-5 members (or even make a sponsor committee) to get together and call sponsors in an attempt to get the parts we need. We will need to make a video and a magazine article to present to them as well as a list of races we plan to attend for the year.
I haven't thought this out a whole lot, so any input to build on the original idea is welcome. If you have an idea post up!
