An idea for us to build on

.... i might be a bit off in left field and quite honestly dont know all that im puting in the pot here,,,,, but sure they were ordered,,,, but have they bn installed??? i dont think they have,,, maybe,,, but im not too sure!!! if not then send them back!!! fab the bracket,,,, and put the money saved to a converter or somethin!!! this idea seems like it would work,, if not,,, why?? but i completely agree~~~~ we need some more sponsor activity,,, not like the club hasnt done more than enough for this car but theres no way that we can affectively support a race car without more sponsors!!! right!!!

and not to put any one on front street but i had two very promising sponsor oportunities and after pming a certain club presadent and not getting any kind of response!!!! they kinda fell apart!!! not saying that there isnt still an option for these specific oportunities,,, but if we get offers we shouldnt sit on them, but rather take them and run!!!! right!!!

by the way these specific sponsors were

chuck,,, the owner of performance transmission,,, located very close to the air and space meuseum down town!! and was looking foward to helping us out!!

and i was talking to a few guys at mmr,,, which as most of you probably know, is a huge distributor/ authority in modular motors!!! which could alwayse be a pluss!!!

both of these offers were made a month or so ago, but as of now,,, who knows where they lie!!! but i do know that they could be very promising if we just act!!!

hahaha! seriously though.. thats why i have 2 sponsors of my own. rainstate and michelin tires. its a bit annoying to go through other people for what i need yet, we are a club and a "team" i guess. so why is there so much hassle and ill feelings?? if anyone including Emilio, moderators, whoever gets pissed off at this thread.. so be it. i think the club needs to be able to communicate to function and progress instead of whither away. lets get the WS car to the track even if we cant quite put it on it yet.

Well Performance transmissions was an option long before you spoke with them, but Chuck has some business practices that leave alot to be desired. He built my transmission and I have no complaints about that. It seems to be pretty badass so far, but it was a fiasco getting it done.

Chuck offered to give free labor if we bought the parts. Parts are still very expensive and would require donations and or sponsors.

Crossbreed: He writes everything like that, so don't be alarmed.

We could even get it to the track and have Barona make an announcement that we need brakes to get it back on the road and people could come and donate at a booth. Well have the car up on jacks with the wheels off so they can see what were missing, lol.

i jsut have a question......not that it concerns me because im leaving, but this has been itchin at me for a couple of days now. but what will the future be for the race car. will it remain with WS SD forever? or are SD members going to put work on it and it move on to...i dont know. texas maybe.....hmmm

and....allthough its only been out twice there have been several runs in it....why has no other club member driven it. and dont say nobody asked because i know of one that did.


and finally. WHY THE **** HAS OUR PRESIDENT NOT RESPONDED TO THIS THREAD!!! the president of our club should show leadership especially in matters like this.

First we get together a list of parts/upgrades for the race car. Then Each month we come up with assigned 4-5 members (or even make a sponsor committee) to get together and call sponsors in an attempt to get the parts we need. We will need to make a video and a magazine article to present to them as well as a list of races we plan to attend for the year.

I haven't thought this out a whole lot, so any input to build on the original idea is welcome. If you have an idea post up!

This is what i was trying to say a year ago i had to pass up 3 possible sponsors for the race car because i have no info on the car I.E. sponsor packet or video. what i got from E is "My word is there packet" and the last test and tune before MvW Todd and Danny where building a packet for JBA.

Sponsors passed up: Big O 3 sets of slicks a year, Bumper Doc free paint for race car and club discounts, local trans shop free labor parts at cost.

i have now given up on trying to get sponsors...

all in respect of course but i think that all this has bn in the back ground but very few people are willing o say much, and or have the ability to say much on topics like this!! but i do agree with bj and notch!!! i dont understand how these things have bn passed up!!! that just doesnt make sence to me!!! and why isnt the PRESIDENT of the club here to talk about this with us!!! i guess this isnt the first time there has bn no response though!!! like i said though,,, i mean all this as respectfully as it could sound online!!!

No he has not. This is a club and a democracy as far as most are concerned. We just need to get a plan in place instead of winging it. That has to be done collectively, not by one person and one person alone.

From what I understand, the brakes are ordered, and Todd will be contacting some transmission companies about sponsoring us and supplying us with a torque converter. That is all I know.

in regards to the future of the WS race car.. when will texas see it or other states.. well what about WA? what about when we have car shows and wanna represent WS also. sure there is only one WS race car right now but as far as i knew.. its not Emilios. i have no disrespect towards him or any member i just feel like a lot of people are speaking up and its our right as part of this club. ban us all and you have no club. respond and consider what we say and we support the prez more. it is a democracy

its the SAN DIEGO chapter club car..........at least thats what it was when we started.
