Well here is the deal.........

I went to Big Bear today and as usual, the kids fell in love with something....they all want to be snowboarders! I myself can ski, I havent in a few years but I can do it and do it well with a little refreshing.....I have skied in the Italian Alps and other venues around the US. My stepbrother was an instructor in Colorado. I think he was in Aspen. Not sure though. I want to get my kids out there to learn how to ski/snowboard as soon as possible. I am looking toward the end of the season(Late Feb) for going up to Big Bear for a Friday through Sunday and having the kids try it out. They will get lessons on Saturday then Sunday be able to do whatever. I myself am gonna try to learn how. I figure with knowing how to Ski already it should be a quick learning curve. I used to skateboard as well. Anyway, does this sound like an unreasonable quest to set out on?

Albert, you are from Denver and dont know how?????????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought you would respond to this post with HELL YEAH I CAN!!!!!

Also, if the little ones do well and actually enjoy it, I will be buying season passes for next season too.

BTW: 6 and under are free with an adult ticket.

You will pick it up quickly. So to give you the answer you're waiting for, "Hell Yeah you can do it!!!" I learned to snowboard about 6 years ago and had never skateboarded or tried to ski ever! It took 2 or 3 trips for me to get it but once you understand the body dynamics you'll do fine. The big choice is how to set up the bindings on your board. There is the standard position that has your feet parallel like this "I I" or you can board goofy foot with your leading foot tilted to the 2 or 3 o'clock position like this "I /". I hope that translates okay. Anyways you and your kids will have a blast!

Well I went to Sport Chalet and they had all the answers for me to my questions. They also have an awesome deal for renting equipment for the little ones.....130 for the entire season and that covers boards, boots and bindings. If the items need maintained, bring them in. If the little ones need upgraded, bring the stuff in to exchange it. Best part is that you dont have to turn the gear in everyday and check it back out. You pick it up originally and then return it at the end of the season. They rent Burton gear which is one of the top companies. They have adult packages for renting too.

I can not wait for Feburary. This is gonna be fun. Get to spend quality time with the kids and enjoy myself at the same time.
