Anyone have a verizon wireless card?

st want to get some feedback. I have cable internet right now and love the speed of it. I was thinking of cuttingg it off and getting a verizon wireless card. I could use that at home and out at cruises or wherever. Just wondering if I should just add that or just replace it with my cable.

On another thought. I could cut my cable down to basic, still have fast cable internet, and add the verizon card to access it outside of the house. I dont watch much tv anymore. Im just living on a budget and trying to stay connected all the time.

I'm using one right now, and every day. Where I live they don't have cable tv. It's a rural area and my only other alternative is dial-up or Hughes Net satellite connection. I may have to do Hughes Net. This Verizon broadband SUX!!! It goes "dormant" when you're not sending or receiving info. Too many times, when you click on a link or try to open a new page, it takes several seconds to start loading. Simply doesn't wake up from it's dormant state.

For regular internet surfing it's ok if you don't mind the wait, but when you're on pages that "time out" after inactivity, or trying to bid on Ebay in the last few seconds its SUX! Too many times I tried to bid in the last 10 seconds and loose because the connection never woke from dormant state and the page came up saying "could not connect to internet"

On the positive side, I like the portability of it. Keep in mind that it's a cell phone signal/line. You're vulnerable to "dead spots" or areas that have a weak signal. If you have a weak signal, even dial up is faster to load pages.

When all conditions are great, the speed is amazing, but not constistent.

Ok i may just ass this so i can be more portable. Just not replace my cable internet. But i could always just BORROW internet from my neighbors. LOL

Do you ever go over the 5mb or whatever they have. I know i like watching videos and looking at pics, and will be uplaoding lots of pics from cruises and stuff.

Wondering where I am!?!?
My wireless is with Alltel, 62 a month unlimited use.

Be very careful of which plan you get with Verizon

Im gonna research verizon more. Thats who i have my cell phone with, so I can just add it to my plan. Just dont know if I would go over the limit considering how much I'm online.
