Back in Texas

Made it back to Texas around 2PM today and headed to the shop to pick up my Cobra. They were still dyno tunning her so I was there for several hours. They did a great job on her even though she didnt make the numbers I had hoped for. Sounds like they are normal numbers though for the mods. Had her tuned with mid grade here due to high octane in Cali. But with a 2.2 at 16lbs on 91 octane she made 550rwhp. She is on a safe tune and still braking the clutch and motor in as well. Will do a few more mods eventually and get a retune within the next 6 months. Priority now is getting this house packed out and getting my butt back to San Diego. Later.-Shane

It's 11.8/12 Eric. I just need to learn how to read this wideband! It jumps around like crazy. I let off the gas it goes bright red and hits 16 and under normal cruise at 70 its around 15 and never seen it hit under 12. Have not gotten on it though and gonna baby her for a while. -Shane

I believe that will go to 11.8 when you go on full load, that is pretty close to what i had with my first tune from RET 11.9 a/f with 14* timing, you know how much timing he gave ya? When you let off the gas there is much more air then fuel cause you took off your foot off the gas, basicly when you are flooring it, if it's red your dead....

Thanks guys...clutch is throwing me for a loop though. Its a spec 3+ with a steel flywheel. It feels like I am a noobie and learning for the first time because it is inredibly hard to maintain a steady rpm when taking off. I assume I am just learning the new clutch or maybe cause it holds alot more power it is more difficult to use and I will adapt. This sound reasonable or could something be wrong? -Shane

Thanks again..I have to be back for work on the 2nd. Pretty sure I will be shipping the Cobra and driving the Caddy back. Maybe Eric will have two of my Mustang at his house!

Red...was a beautiful CS in black with flat black stickers at the shop when I picked mine up..thought of you..how sweet of me..HA HA

Got some pics and gonna post them up shortly and see if I can upload the last dyno run. -Shane

Here are the valve covers which will look great ones I get a whipple. The new breather, and inlet for the fuel pressure gauge.

Here is the video of the car on the dyno..concerned about all the back firing. Is this an indication of a bad tune or normal? never had it di this before so curious. Sorry for the dirty engine bay and the long movie...just wait for it..-Shane

There is a good bit of back firing though. Isnt that due to being rich? never had a tune back fire like this. Reminds me of my friends GTO that changed out his entire exhaust and no tune. -Shane
