Thanks Guys. This was my last pass of the day. I had run some pretty good times before this, including an 8.76 and 8.77, matching my best time from the previous event.
With the trap speeds @ 83 mph, I guesstimated the car should be capable of 8.6's, but just nailing the throttle off the line, the car would bog, and run high 8.7's and low 8.8's. With traction being so good, I figured the only way to improve my times with a stock stall converter was to pre-load the chassis by bringing the RPM's up a little, to try and get a little spin out of the hole.
This particular run was a solo pass, and the car had been sitting for a couple hours cooling off during the Lunch break. So, with ideal conditions, the launch was the best I've had with this setup (first sub 2 second 60 ft), and my reaction time was the best I've had at this track too. Overall, this run was definitely a peak performance so far.
Yes, a higher stall and sticky tires might drop my 60 ft times quite a bit...
...and a little juice probably wouldn't hurt either!
