I've never raced my car. Then again, my car's stock. I've been to RaceLegal a couple of times, but never Barona. What are the directions? I'd like to check it out. What's the cost to spectate?

You should try a 26" tire this time out.

Been looking for some 26's.... Won't buy Nitto, BFG I hear is "ok", and M&H (the stickiest DR) doesn't make a 26". So I guess it is MT or slicks. I don't want to work at the track with changing slicks. Just trying to find a good deal on some MT's.

Speaking of tires.... anyone have any input on the Hoosier DR tires?

They seem to be about the same price as the MT's.... although the same size 275/40/17.... They seem to be a bit smaller in dimensions and MUCH lighter.

MT's are about 10.2" tread, 26 dia, 28 pounds

vs

Hoosier is about 9.5" Tread. 25.7 dia, 21 pounds

These companies are NEVER accurate on their dimensions. But I got 9" wide cobra wheels for racing.

I think I am going to stick with the MT's unless someone gives me a good reason to consider Hoosier.

Anyone local might have the MT's at the $200 each price??

I will not be racing in this event, but I will likely be spectating. Hopefully the "Shop Whore Gt" will be ready to run by then

No input on my Tire Question?? What use are you?:wtf:

I read that the weight is irrelevant between bias ply and drag radials because the drag radials will pick up the slack at the top end where the bias ply starts to distort. Now 2 drag radials with a weight difference like that with everything else being equal I would have to go with the lighter one. However I wouldn't buy anything other than a MT, but that's just me!

I have never raced out here so I was wondering what the rules are. Do I have to have a helmet? I want to run my car to see what it will do before I do the mods.
