ya i still say something is not right with that converter or trans, if you are dead hooking off the line it should be cutting better 60's than that imho.

I think its just that I dont make enough power to make the converter work for me....

its possible if that motor is just dog tired i guess, honestly that converter should work good with your car and 3.73's, i see cars with stock aod's and 2.73's go 2.4's in the 60', i dont see why that car shouldnt be able to do 2.0's without to much trouble.

how does the car run does it feel strong or sluggish down low?

The timing is up a little, but we set it so long ago I forgot what it was at. First let me remind you this is my daily driver and has 148k on it, so yeah the engine is a little tired. The car is super sluggish off the line but when the converter finally "flashes" i guess the tires will start spinning. I would love for someone to drive the car and see what im talking about. Maybe Bobby will if he is at the meeting tonight.

it shouldnt be all that sluggish, my coupe mentioned earlier, same gears and stall, ssm upper and edelbrock lower rear control arms with 255 bfg kdw's, would boil the tires through first and bark second with 175,000+ longblock in it.

i would say a compression check, check the timming, stock is 10 degrees I would start there and bump it to 14. See what happens. If no pinging, go to 16. At whatever point you start to hear pre-detonation, back it off a couple degrees.

Im waiting for the military promotion list to come out before I decide what im going to buy. If I get promoted im going to try and get a terminator, if I dont, probably a nice 96-98 cobra.

This reminded me of Todd. I asked him what his timing was at and he said he forgot and that JBA set it. We never checked it and ran at the track a few times and even at MVTWII.

Later on when he finally checked it he found that JBA had his timing at 4*!!! We will never know what his car was actually capable of in that trim because he has the blower now and a whole new set of problems lol.

I'm not saying that is definitely the case with you, but it's worth a look like 510z mentioned. If I remember correctly I asked you what timing was at when we were at Barona too.

Also make sure the spout is out when setting base timing!

I set my timing at 14btc and my car didn't want to run at idle.
