Broke tonight!

I either broke an axle or spider gears went out again. I felt awesome for two seconds though. I got to passes tonight. One na pass. 8.50 and one with bottle pressure only at 500 psi ran a 7.95 @ 88 mph with a 1.70 sixty. The next pass i heated it up to 1100 psi. It was at 1050 when i launched at 5k. I swear it had to be like a 1.60 or a 1.59 sixty, lol. Then POW!!! Had to jack up rear end and get it off the track. It eventually unlocked when we got it on the trailer. Then When i got it home, it pulled up the driveway 3 ft then clacking sound from drivers side. The tire was moving in and out. I was able to back it up again and same thing. Wonder if I just broke the axle. I was leaving on a 150 shot with stock spec rearend. Gonna pull cover off tomorrow.

Thanks to mustangtim who stayed and helped load, then follow home and helped unload. Thanks to my friend around the corner than went home and got his trailer and truck to tow me home for FREE. It pays to be only less than a mile from the track. And have friends/neighbors around you that go to the track with a trailer. LOL

Next to come, fully built rearend. Aint going through this again. Just gotta save!!!

Sucks to break at the track. I blew my rear end out of my 02 GT at the track too. Had to tow it home with a Jeep Liberty.....Not fun lol/

thats the second time this year!!!! Third time in the last year and a half. Ill find out what it is tomorrow. Hopefully gear and clutch pack is good. If its just spider gears and axle. I'll buy that kit and put my stock axles in for now and save for a BUILT rear end. He 02gt. How much you spend on you rearend, start to finish. Are you running c clip elims?

My advice when rebuilding a rear end......If ya want it bullet proof then you have to get the best of the best. Do not go cheap on any one part or when that part fails it will screw all the more expensive parts up. I spent around 2200 on my last rear end and beat the ever loving crap out of it and it never let me down again. 150 shot right out of the hole and nothing but rubber on the track!!!!!

it woulda been 7.7 easy. probably a 7.6. it hooked HARD. The 457 lbs of trq really puts wear on the rearend. 2nd i broke this year. last time i broke on mt slicks. so i tried mt et streets.

Seriously what's the point of putting the same shitty axles in over and over? You're going to break them again and possibly wipe out the diff and ring and pinion. By now you surely could have bought some better stuff.

Is that your daily driver?
