bullwinkle T1000 plan. original

BULLWINKLE
okay, so here is the beginning plan of parts for bullwinkle to turn him into the car my family and i can enjoy.

1. engine

specifics on the engine are still being thought about, but i definately plan on a strong block stroker with some sort of power adder (turbo, or s/c) built to put down around 500rwhp. thats about all i will need.

2. tranny/driveline

i want to go with a t-56 and a 3.73 rear gear. im tired of changing gears every 3 seconds with 4.10s. i have also thought about emilios idea of a IRS swap. i will do some research to see how hard it is and the benifits from it. but sounds like fun

3. suspension

okay, so im am gonna keep it simple and go with the maximum grip box from maximum motorsports. it is a little spendy but has everything that i will need. VP, i want to handle like you!!!

MM Strut Tower Brace
MM K-Member
MM Front Control Arms w/ urethane bushings
MM Front Coil-Over Conversion Kit
MM Adjustable Tie-Rod Ends
MM Standard Torque-arm
MM K-Member Brace
Solid steering shaft
MM Full Length Subframe Connectors
MM Aluminum rack bushings
MM Panhard Bar with Aluminum rod
MM Adjustable Rear Swaybar
MM Caster/Camber Plates*
MM Rear Lower Control Arms without spring perch or swaybar mount
Hypercoil Coil-Over Springs
MM Rear Coil-Over Conversion Kit
Bilstein HD struts & shocks
Urethane swaybar bushings
Urethane swaybar endlinks.

4. brakes/wheels

i want to go with the FRPP cobra R brake kit. it has everything i need to convert to 5 lugs and 4 wheel disc, and strong enough to stop quickly. and wheel choice is unknown. there are so many choices with a 5 lug set up. they will be wither 17's or 18's, and not too flashy, but nothing thats common, ie cobras, bullitts.

5. interior

again, like VP i want to go with the corbeau seats. these a4's will provide the comfort for driving daily, but the performance to hold me in on the corners

the interior was already re-done previouslu, but i will clean it up with some billit aluminum. there is also a company that make a new gauge cluster that i will get. it will move my tach back into the cluster, but allow me to use new gauges from autometer. make it really clean, but still high tech looking.

i also want a roll bar with a removable cross bar (harness bar) for the 5 points. i need to be able to put the kids in there.

6. body

i will be going with a stalker body kit because it looks very similar to the clean GT, but its different. the bogy will look good slammed to the ground

i will also have a cobra R hood and i think the steeda wing that looks similar to my LX wing, but a little more agressive.

paint will be two tone, black on top and gunmetal or silver on the bottom.

plans will always change but here is my baseline idea for the build next year. if anyone ahs any good ideas that will help out let me know.

Beejay, I've went down this road already. You can't have 2 kids in the back of one of these mustangs and have all of that crap on the car and make it comfy. It's just not gonna happen. My orange car was still my daily driver when my first son was born and it was all good. After the second one it was a totally different story!

I say keep it a drag car and while your on deployment save for a family type car that has more room that won't break the bank and whatever you have left over spend on the stang. I could go way more into detail about this, but I hate typing! Trust me man by the time you get back you will have changed your mind again.

Yeah right LOL!

Beejay my kids loved my fox. Brandon could ride in back and look out all the windows in his car seat. ( guess that is where he got his first sentence "daddy smoke the tires"

im selling my pontiac for an suv for an every day family car, this will jsut be a toy we can all enjoy. i know what your saying tho, i couldnt have it be the only vehicle for our whole family...lol. i will end up driving it daily alone, and on events my family could ride along.

i think i want to do what you did and have CPR build most of it while i am gone so when i get back i can have a toy. at least have them do the major stuff like all the suspension and the engine/tranny/rear end, and maybe even wire in all the gauges. then when i get back i will finish it off with the seats, stereo, and then get the body work done

Never said the kids wouldn't like it, but I know Beejay is like 1ft taller than you and I don't think he's gonna like driving with his knees on the dash. I hope that's a joke, cause I don't think I'd be smoking tires with kids in the car. I personally think that the car is for you to enjoy. I could care less if my wife likes it. We have another car for her and the family.

If you were more of a road race guy I'd say go for it, but a hunch tells me your more of a straight line kind of guy.

Do it yourself when you get back. It will be more meaningful and alot less expensive. I will help you if you need it.

well i'm thinkn' a bout swapn' to a strait axle. but i'll tell you the diff between 99'-01' IRS and 03'-04 IRS. 99-01's are 28 spline and 03-04's are 31. but if you still thinkn' a bout a swap let me know. if i don't swap i'm planing on upgradeing to 31 spline set up.

I don't know I going to have to agree with orange BJ you seem like a straight line kind of guy... Just Imagine Droping the clutch at 5K rpms wheels coming up off the ground and then banging second and third man that just does it for me...:)

maybe in time, but i want something to rip around palomar mountain on cruises, and do it in comfort. thats what i want now.

well i think its when bj goes for rides in my car and the turn recommends 25 mph and i put it in second above 55 and the car just digs in looking to go harder and faster tires making a little screeching suspension holding strong and the G's pushing on your body. but wheelies in a car are fun too!
