Ok, I am for this to get our name out but just so you know, there is only one person, a older lady that is soley responsible for assigning people/orgs to a sign and stecth of highway. We couldn't ever reach her to get a strecth of highway for my First Class Mess on my last ship and the last time we did get her there was a 2 year waiting list.

Also, once we get assigned a strecth of highway we will be legally responsible for it and it we miss a clean up and they do a drive by inspection we lose it. I'm for this but I want you guys to be aware of the other stuff. Maybe I can get the rules/regs for this in a post.

Funny maybe we should cal Turko Files it was on the news today. That they get no help and what not and they were promoting the Adopt-a-highway program that is how I got the info today..

A truly wonderful thing to do! I'm not a 'tree hugger' in the sense we know of them, but I am all for taking care of, and encouraging the plants and trees to be healthy and grow. We need their help to live. They help us, we need to help them.

I would be very happy to help. As an additional perk it is advertising for the club!
