That is a bitter man or "ex-cop." How much you want to bet he was fired for doing something unethical or broke a department policy? Now he is pissed and made that video. Its nothing new that haven't been said or heard of. Yes, there are cops that are bad. And the reason it went to a "para-military" type of policing because it is effective and the criminals were getting to be more well armed the the cops. How can you fight a criminal carrying an assault weapons and the cops carrying a six-shooter? Also, during the 70's there were many returning Vietnam Vets who got hooked on drugs over there and because of the dissension amongst the American public against Vietnam, became disilluisonal of the government and got heavier into drugs and committing crime to support that habit. Since many of them have combat experience, the need to adopt a military style tactic is necessary and it only make sense to hire prior military to adopt this new tactic since they already have the training. It is not police vs citizens, it is what the media project. Like the war on terrorism, the media don't show the good things our military do, the same with the police. So, I hope you all see this and take it with a grain of salt, consider the source and his purpose of creating it.
