Wondering where I am!?!?
I take it you have the T3650 tranny by the year under your name.

Ford sent out a TSB on this problem. You can only get the replacement parts from them.

Simple solution, you have a syncro going or is bad. I lean towards bad since it is starting to grind.

One of two things you can do:

1. Replace tranny with an aftermarket one

2. Buy the rplacement parts and do it yourself or have it done.

The 3650 is a pile of junk if you like to hammer it! I have gone through having the TSB parts installed and had 3rd grind one month after warranty.

My sister had the same problem in her 02 GT. It was repaired by Ford while still under warranty

Just don't pay a lot of money, aftermarket trans can be found for 1k dollars or less, and reworking the tranny is actually a pretty easy job. If you need help ripping it out, fixing it, and getting it back on the road, let us know.

when my tr3650 in the mach crapped out i put in a T56 from steeda i think it was 2200... BAD ASS trans though...

I would first (if you havent done it already) install a quick release quadrant and firewall ajuster with ajustable cable... that mght fix your problem and you can get them for about 100 or so dollars... I believe the wickedstangs performance shop has them...!!

I spent 1500 for the TSB parts and installation.

It lasted a little over a year before the trans started grinding into third again.

I got the PMP/3650 with the Pro 5.0 Shifter installed and a new clutch friction disk from these guys:

http://www.promotionpowertrain.com/

The reason I had to get a new friction disk is because the PMP is a 26 spline.

I love the hell out of this thing now!! I can bang the gears and don't have the 2nd gear grind when cold anymore.
