so tonight, i drove a manual for the first time in 11 years... god damn am i rusty. it felt so awkward and new. and yes, i f'in stalled. :loser: :loser: some of it through rust, mostly through i couldn't f'in believe what i was driving.

makes me fell more of a :loser: that i stalled in it. *sigh* i wanna get a beater so i can practice again. i only drove once when i was 14 for a few hours on a borrowed car.

Nice car to get the rust out. Did you do a test drive?

I know how you feel. I haven't driven a manual since I was 16. I'm afraid to try it. I'm sure I'll grind the sh*t out of the clutch.

I have stalled mine many times.....seems these newer stangs are very touchy......

Might be my gears is the reason I have issues.... 3.31's

it's actually my neighbor's. he has that and a newer shelby hertz gt350. he asked me if i would like to take the orange one out for a drive. told him my story and said he'd teach me again. yeah... it went sorta well.

whole time i was like "holy ish... holy ish..." cause i know that car's value and didn't wanna grind the heck outta the gears. still embarrassing to stall. times like this i wish i woulda gotten the terminator cause i know after a few hours again, i'd have it back. just not comfortable at the moment, esp. with a car like that.

i knew what the pedal was for :p , just couldn't get the combo right. that coupled with the owner there watching you, knowing the value of the car, and trying to remember back way back when... yeah... talk about pressure. me, in my own car or in a beater, i'd have no problem.

I like to have a neighbor like that, Ichiduo. Nice cars

he's an awesome guy and a def. mustang nut. amazed he let me drive even after hearing that i only drove a manual once 11 years ago.

he offered to teach me some more but truthfully, i dunno how sincere that was with the way i drove tonight.

his shelby on the other hand, i can drive...

p.s.

you can call me jay... :)

I love the manual. I drove my dads truck a ton over the weekend and only stalled it once because I didn't notice how far out the clutch was! I was going up a hill and I didn't want to engage it until after I got my foot off the brake!
