Dumbest thing I've ever done and I F'ed up my car!

Well I was a victim of my own complacency today. In a hurry to get things done before going on vacation tomorrow I did something really dumb. As a result I F*cked up my car and almost got crushed.

In preparation for setting my pinion angle once I return home, I barrowed some car ramps from a couple friends at work. I jacked the car up and set the front on the ramps. I then went to the rear and jacked it up and put the ramps under the rear tires. I figured it would be all good since the car was in park and the parking brake was set.

Well THE F*CKING TRANSMISSION ISN'T EVEN IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: The car rolled off of the ramps and I tried to stop it! I was pushing back and losing! I would have been crushed against our retention wall had a jack under the car not rolled over and stopped it. The jacked saved me, but f*cked the side of my car up.

Not sure if or when this will ever get fixed. I don't have money for this kind of S*hit right now.

This is by far the dumbest F*cking thing I've ever done. Not the way I wanted to leave for vacation. :nonono:

Here is the damage

WoW, shame that the beast has a little damage...but the car is repairable...you may not be. Good to hear that you are ok and another lesson for all of us who risk life and limb to build a better car.

I have alot of emotions running through me right now. I'm so pissed at myself for doing something so f*cking stupid.

Todd, I need the number to the place that painted your car. I want to see if they will give me a quote.

What's funny is the whole reason why I barrowed the ramps was because I don't want to keep bugging people (Papatom) to tow my car places. Ideally I would have taken my car to the auto hobby shop and put it on a drive on lift to set the pinion angle.

This wasn't a case where I needed any help it was a case of being in a rush and doing something stupid because of it.

Thanks for the offer though. I appreciate it.

PM Sent.

Keep you chin up and yes a drive on ramp is much easier but note always available. You've completed a ton of excellent work out of your driveway and saved me a couple of days on the lift. That's right. I changed my K-member in my garage becuase I saw your setup in the driveway. Saved me over $120 in lift fees that weekend and allowed me to take my time.

See, you're helping in more ways then you know. KEEP CHARGING!!!

besides the fact that you didnt get hurt, another good thing is the location of the damage. You have a solid body line right above it so it will be really easy for a body shop to blend it in and stuff. If it was a inch higher you would have been looking at repainting the whole door and it may not have matched perfect. That rocker panel should be easy...
