I was thinking it was possibly fuel pressure problems. Normally the car is set at 45 - 48 psi. Well, with the new mods it was originally set at 38 psi and I recently turned it up to 45psi. I think the change in press was causing problems with the fuel management and stalling the engine at low RPMs. Today I drove to Emilio's and back with no stalling @ 38psi fuel pressure. I'll keep everyone posted...big lesson learned here!!!!
That's alot of fuel pressure! Keep in mind you should always set the fuel pressure with the vacuum disconnected. Once you are set hook it back up. Glad to hear you found the problem.
I did set the fuel pressure with the vacuum disconnected, but the engine stalled out again today. This time I was sitting in line, waiting to enter the base, and the rpms fell to zero. I pushed the car to the side of the road...everyone got to pass by and see my broken pony waiting for CPR...let it sit for 30mins. It fired up and I drove it onto the base. Can you say....FRUSTRATED!!!!!!
Does your car have a chip burned for it? Sometimes they come loose. When this happens turn the key immediately after and listen to see if your fuel pump is cycling. Also check the connection on the salt & pepper connectors behind the intake. Clean them with electronic cleaner and put them back together. If it is not either of those I would say ignition or Dizzy.
CWO, whatever you do do NOT buy an MSD distributor! They suck and have been known to have issues out of the box. If that is the problem another stocker is better.
Have you checked all of your grounds? Grounds will cause all kinds of issues like this. Make sure they are all tight at the battery terminal and the block, as well as the ground behind your cylinder head to firewall.
