Events vs. Calendar

When does an event become added to the Calendar?

Does it have to be a WS "endorsed" event?

The reason is.... There are so many things happening with WS members, that I have to do alot of looking on forums to see what everyone is up too. Which I don't mind if I have the time, but lots of times, I just don't have the time and I hit the calendar to see whats happening.

But I am missing lots of get togethers of members and other events.

There is just so much information spread everywhere, I wonder if I am missing a feature on how to show some of this on the Calendar?

The bigger WS events seem to be there, but for example, Race Legal this Friday is not on the Calendar.

If I might make a suggestion or if it is possible. When someone has an idea for some cruise, bbq, or other event, but they are not sure who might be interested, can they post it up in the Calendar?

Perhaps we could make "suggested" events one color and then when other members RSVP it turns another color and becomes official.

Taking it one step further. I noticed some other websites/clubs like to invite us to their events on the forums. Again, perhaps we could put this on the calendar in another color.

But maybe this feature is already available on the website and I just haven't figured it out yet. I just find myself getting flustrated trying to find it all in the forums.

spdpilot everything that gets put on the Calendar are from the Preferred Events / Endorsed WS Events forum and we will try and show up in full force...:) Everythingelse gets put up on Regular Events Section.. Anyone wants to show can. The Board Members vote for which events we are going to try and attend.. We are receiving tons of Emails asking us to attend events.. Some of us just can't make all of them.. But, if there is a better way of doing it we will try and fix it... And then there are some last minute one and also some that we will be attending regularly...

SpdPilot. The only reason why only endorsed events are on the calendar is because the calendar gets too cluster if we started to put every events that goes on on there. We have done that in the past where every events are put on the calendar and believe me, it is worse and more confusing then not having it on there. In addition, we have primarliy 3 chapters posting events on the calendar, San Diego, Central Valley, South Carolina, and soon to be a 4th (again), Inland Empire. So, that is why we cannot post all events on the calendar, and some events are on the "upcoming events" threads.
We have been exploring using color designation to identify the chapters, but as of now, it has not been possible, but will continue to explore options.
Please bear with us, as we are trying to make it as easy as possible, but from past experience, its just too confusing and cluster by putting all events on the calendar.

Ok thanks! Just something to keep in mind.

Learning as I go. I guess I should just be more patient and see how things are done around here. My distance from some of you guys doesn't help me either. If I could just get down there for some meetings.

Thanks,

Glen
