Ever run into a sleeper?

Just curious if any one else ever had a run in with a sleeper. While back I noticed this gold 4 door Camry in the rear view. We were on this wide open causway with no traffic and he pulls nex to me around 50. He had a passenger and a femal in the back. He wanted to race but I just waved him off. He was persistent...so after a drop into 4th he got the idea. I pointed at him for the jump and then I tore him up. Funny thing is I should have put about 5 buses on him and ended up about 5 car lengths. We slowed and he asked what I had and I yelled supercharged...then he points at his and goes twin turbos. I was like..mother******* b****. One of the more interesting ones though-Shane

i would like to think my car is a sleeper, i few people have said it is. but i think the outside is too loud with the rims and the paint,etc. i did go to some extent to hide all my gauges which makes for a good time when you tell people your n/a.

The pic in your sig is where I derived my question from. It could be red or orange. Has a 03/04 Cobra decklid and think you mentioned a SC but that bumper is like a black widow or something and couldnt for the life of me think anyone would get rid of the beautiful 03/04 rear bumper so it makes me think its not a Cobra. So..just curious what it is Mexican

its a gt with a 2.1 kb and a few other things. its red, an orangish red. its got an 03-04 cobra front bumper with the fogs grille and airdam blacked out, saleen rear with the words filled in, 99 cobra bumper, 04 cobra spoiler and deep dish bullits. kb with the gauges stuffed in the glove box. then a tremec trans with steeda triax, full exhaust, centerforce clutch, upper and lower control arms, subframes, cobra front brakes with baer discs. 3.73s and a few other things im sure im forgeting

I actually had this happen yesterday but havent had chance to post. I left Coronado yesterday and seen a guy in a Nissan Sentra. He had Guam plates and some kinda ricer sticker on bottom of front window. This was a four door car and had a huge Monster tach on dash. I just laughed and thought to myself at least get a honda LOL. Well he cut me off getting on 15 and then waited for me to come up and bobs his head at me like whats up and starts palying with me. I took off from around 65MPH and he was about 2 1/2 cars behind me to 100. When we turned on Aero going toward housing he waited and goes lets go for it I was like this guy is asking for it. we did a roll out of first and I pulled on him but he was still 2 1/2 cars behind me till we hit hill then I kept pulling. We got to light and I asked him "hey what the hell you have in there" It was a moter out of a Silvia with a huge turbo.

We need to start carrying cameras with us and photograph these "sleepers" and post them here.

Then we can go out on a statewide spree hunting them down!

Yeah, I've run into a few at stoplights. And after you kick their butts, the won't even come up next to you at the next stoplight. They stay a half car length behind, embarrassed.

I personally dont think they are that fast. I had a built up Gt that was Fast. Mine is ok now but I would not brag about it and say .....oh I will crush you cause I got a Termie. lol

but you will crush most things out therebecause it is a termy and

imho termies are the best bang for your buck toss a pulley on it intake exhaust mickys on gthe rear and your pretty much unstoppable

Um.....ok if you say so. I have quit a bit done to mine and true ....I have never been beaten on the street I just dont think it is that fast.

well you dont think its that fast because you drive it everyday but if you go drive a gt right now you wioll be like damn that gt is a sled.

That happens after driving a whippled 03 Termy around for a wile

i agree, your car always feels slow. i thought mine wasnt that fast til i drove a pretty much stock 04gt.
