Evolution Performance, one of the primer Shelby GT500 builders for street and strip, recently posted some impressive video and information about one of their customers cars. The black GT500 is street legal and recently made a best pass of 9.32 et @ 148 mph. While many Mustang enthusiasts thought the GT500 engine might be suspect to breakage after adding more power, Evolution has proven the engine is quite capable of more boost. While the engine has not knocked the 2003-2004 “Terminator” engine off many Mustang builders wish list, it's making waves with the displacement advantage.
The transmission is a Chevy (Cough Cough) TH400 with a Manual Reverse Valve Body and no transbrake. The converter is a Evolution Spec 10.5" Convertor they have been testing for the past 9 months in both footbrake and transbrake applications.
