Yes, what Myztry said. They should have included the credit bureau they used to run your credit and I believe you have 60 days to ask for a free copy of your credit report when you credit is ran and a decision was made.

Billy...and everyone else reading this............

contact each of the three credit reporting agencies, DIRECTLY and not through those advertised services. They ultimately charge you when you should get it free. Each agency will give you one free report per year, then with your request, each can place your credit profile on "frozen" status which can only be un-frozen by you. This way, anyone trying to run a credit check cannot do so until it's unfrozen. If thieves try to use your identity, they just hit that road block and can't go further.

Just found out today there's a big lawsuit against Life Lock !!!
Something about sending out fake fraud alerts ?

Turns out they have multiple lawsuits against them from consumers as well.

Everyone,

They way Life Lock works, is they place a Fraud Alert on your behalf, which you can do for free as I mentioned above. The courts didn't like this because they were sending out the fraud alerts when there was no evidence of fraud! The credit reporting agencies were bombarded with work overload and went to the courts. Life Lock did that to simply lock your profile which you can do for free as an individual.

WSChick was right and here's the interesting part...........

I just saw on cable news that there was a recent court order prohibiting Life Lock from placing a Fraud Alert on an individuals credit profile as of August 2009. They're still in business but can do less now to protect you.

You can still do this yourself, but for those who would like to have a company monitor it for you, do your research as Life Lock is not what it used to be.
