first accident

so im leaving work yesterday in the pontiac. my wife and kids were with me (dont ask why) and were pulling through the parkinglot when this young kid in his tundra pulls forward out of a parking space and smashes my drivers side rear end. i dont know how he didnt see me, i was only right in front of him. so, i have never been in an accident before and had no idea what info to get from him regarding insurance, so i got it all. talked to the insurance and they gave me a claim number and hopefully they will fix it sometime this week. i hate that my car has body damage. looks terrible, but if im lucky i wont ahve to pay for anything

Your ins co should contact is ins co for the damages. If you have a good company you will never have to talk to the guy that hit you or his ins co. Yours will do all the work for you.

Be glad that it's not the mustang and everyone is OK. Here is a little information to help you along. The state of California allows "YOU" to pick the repair shop. Do not use the one they provide for you. They cut deals with that business and you'll get shotty work. Pick a shop you have confidence in and "THEY" (the insurance company) will have to pay the bill. This will not effect your insurance or your insurance rate. I had to have work redone on my mustang three times becuase of an accident where I used their recommended shop (2M SHOP).

it was a low speed crash. maybe 3-5mph. i went to my insurance and they said i would have to pay out of pocket and then they would try to get the other insurance company to re imburse me. i said F that, i called his to get it taken care of. i will choose the shop too. its mainly paing scratces and a little dent, shouldnt be too hard to fix

BJ who is your insurance company? They suck if they told you that. Usually they just ask for a quote from a repair shop and remove the deductible off the top no money is seen.

Example:
If you are quoted 1000 for repairs.
Ins. Comp. Cuts you a check for 500.
If your deductible is 500.

Thats if its your fault. The insurance should be taking care of everything.

okay. i have USAA insurance. they wanted me to pay my deductable ($1000) before they would step in and later on would try to re-imburse me. so i went with his insurance. since it was his fault and all. they are comming to my house to inspect the car and let me pick a shop. then when it goes in to get repaired they will provide me a rental car for the time being. pretty cool eh. nothing comes out of my pocket.


oh, and yose, i thought we decided you were taking your car out to yuma and comming back for the cruise. im just gonna take my car to the mustangs by the bay and make it easy. especially with you gone and all. your wife should bring the faleen down tho. and maybe you can swing over with the cobra too...lol. tell WTI to eat a **** and get the hell outa there
