so, today i got my first ever counseling. crazy. 5 years and nothing, and now i got one. insane. basically i am being restricted to the boat for the rest of this port and the next. stupid. all because someone disrespected me and i stood up for myself. this really makes me think twice about re-enlistment

Don't let one thing change your plans. Especially in today's job market. Its good to have a steady income.

Can you tell us the whole story?

You did the right thing. Some situations warrant just keeping your mouth shut but things like disrespect just dont fly.

its a long ass story, but basically im in trouble because i threw a ssgt out of my way and "disrespected" him when i was trying to get to someone else who pissed me off. alcohol was involved and ti wasnt smart, but even being sober i still would have gone after him. i hate smart asses that talk **** and hide behind someone else.

SSgt had written up a charge sheet, but decided to just do a counseling.

But your Navy right? I'm surprised that your CoC is letting the Marines get one on you. Normally just tell the CO that the Marines were bad mouthing a Navy person, the public charges are dropped. But with today's Ecomony and all you got off easy but its all because Alcohol was involved. it you were sober they would probably have dropped it.

oh and I mean no disrespect to our MC brothers and sisters, but you all know how to play that MC vs Navy game.

MZ, he is USMC!!!! So it was going to be Blue on Blue.......

Hey BJ, anytime alcohol is involved, you are gonna be wrong man. I hate to say it but that will ruin your port visit. There have been too many incidents of Sailors and Marines in the last few years doing stupid stuff. I mean they went as far as to killing cab drivers and stuff......so if you have any issue with alcohol during a port visit, you wont be going back out on the port call.....then for us USN guys, usually the next port is class C liberty, then the next Class B, etc depending on what you did wrong.....some deployments, you could make a mistanke the first port and get off Liberty risk in the last port....LOL That would suck!

Good it didnt go anywhere. Dont sweat it man, just save the money up and relax onboard. The more you brew about it, the worse it will get to you.

Ears, we should fall under the same rules on that stuff as the Marines are "The Department of the Navy".....I had Marines onboard and never got any extra pay for it.....now depending on where we went we got tax free, hazardous duty pay, or whatever but nothing just because we were with any Marines.....

just having Marines onboard a small ship means you will most likely be getting hazardous duty pay, when you drop them off somewhere to do the countries business......

The Chair Force are the ones that get paid more for being on our bases. It is because our standards of livving are not up to par with thiers.

out of care!

This that I say is out of concern:..For the safety , of your self and that of your family, consider giving up alcohol. I say this as a concerned member of the club, and a thankful civilian. :)rock:thankful for your selfless giving, honor, and bravery:rock:)
Your calling is high, and messing up your carrier due to alcohol, that, would be a shame.
