well i ran my car against another stang to day and won 2 of 2 runs the other car was a 00' gt with every bolt on you could think of and a tko 600 trany.
well out of the whole 1st and most of second were door to door and then i just walk away from him. then from a 10mph roll so there was no spinning he couldn't hang. we were haveing more of a comparison and his car is quick for a gt but, it's just not built to hang with a stock cobra w/ exaust. but after we got back to his place his car started to run funny it poped alot at idel and studdered under 1800 rpm i think its from his exaust. he running a BBK o/r h-pipe and side exit pipes with no mufflers. so could his problem be from to little back pressure? when its cold it runs fine, but after it's run hard it acts up.

i'm thinking no mufflers= not enough back pressure. thie only thing that gives him any kind of back pressure are the stock manifolds.

yeah that could be it or its misfire'n check the plugs, coil pack, and wires

check to see if he has MIL eliminators! if not his o2 sensors might be screwing stuff up. they control 30% of a/f at idle

he doesn't even have rear o2's he just pluged the holed in the pipe.

that might be causing the problem. thats what was wrong with my 96gt

most of the time when they get a custom tune on there they turn them off

You can go in with Diablo and turn off the sensers for cats I did it on mine its very easy to do

Everyone is heading down the right track on his spitting and sputtering problem. The smog system is searching for a signal from the O2 sensors and a signal that the CATS are warmed up. Once the CATS are warm, the computer makes adjustments that will cut out the problems at idle. He is missing that feedback signal
