Found this Saleen

Oh and I am not trying to say that if this car is nice and has no problems then it aint worth the money. It still seems like an ok deal for a supercharged great looking car but let your friend know that it is not a Saleen but a Saleen clone which there is nothing wrong with but all in all ya know. I know if I paid Cobra prices for mine and found out that it was a clone I would be very pissed.

Its possible that its a real Saleen, just not an originally supercharged car. One good way to tell....peek at the suspension. RaceCraft suspension should be there all the way around. Front brake upgrade may not be there as it wasn't originally supercharged. The S/C cars had larger Saleen calipers and rotors.

Look for the Saleen badge riveted onto the firewall or inner fender, dash plaque just above the shifter area, under the traction control switch

But please be very careful. Yosemiddy is right in many ways. The more I look at it I am actually starting to suspect a clone. Tint on the body kit doesn't match the rest of the paint, the 2nd stripe below the door is solid when it should be "fading" towards the back (see Yosemiddy's) and I don't see the Saleen dash plaque where it should be in the center console area. I could be wrong on this, but I think Saleen only used black interiors in those years.

Ask for plenty of documentation. If it's a clone, offer money accordingly.

Also every part on our car is true Saleen if that helps. even the badging. I would like to get a Saleen supercharged engine for ours.

yea i agree with u guys,it would just be a good deal if it was oringinally a saleen and s/c...well as far as meeting with the guy,he told me to call him at 1 so i called him.No answer....seems like the guy is not interested in selling the car that bad.. -thanks once again for all of ur guy's help...thats why i turn to u guys when i have a question.

Ill end this mystery now. I have looked at this car and rode in it. it is a gt with body kit and a real saleen supercharger on it. it is not in the awesome condition the guy says it is in either. has a huge dent in the rear quarter panel / bumper. he has the exhaust running in the center in the rear like the s281x and the 04 sc saleens. This was last spring and this car has been on CL off and on since then. He hasnt dropped the price either. It was pretty quick though. He also played phone tag with me for forever and i had to wait on him for about an hour at the wal mart off of aero drive.

i can not see the pics from my ship but i am about 90% positive this is the same car. It still won't hurt to go see for sure though. I do remember he did not have the cinter guages that ALL sc saleens came with. he had a fold out dvd player in it. all real saleens have white face gauges that say saleen on either the tach or speedo or both.

thats what i thought,a GT made into a saleen,i think we are talking about the same guy,he answers and tells me to call him and dont answers.....thanks man,he hasnt answered so ill just let it go
