Riders Get Ready To Sign Up For The Sunrise Rotary Annual Charity Event
Attended by hundreds of riders and community members, the Freedom Ride has become the kick-off event of fall in RB.
"Only at the Freedom Ride can you get the camaraderie of a 100-mile motorcycle ride, and day of fun in the park, and groaning board of food for lunch, and a T-shirt for the painfully low entry fee we charge," says Brian Habib, Chair of the 2007 ride.
Sunrise Rotary Freedom Ride Founders Brian Habib (Left) and Randy Williams inspect the finish line at Belmont Village Senior Living Community.
Originally founded to celebrate our nation's freedom after 9/11, the Freedom Ride combines a motorcycle/classic car tour through the back country of San Diego County, starting at Rancho Financial in RB and ending at Belmont Village. The festivities usually goes well into the night.
Participants come from diverse backgrounds, and travel from as far away as Henderson, NV to be part of the fun. From Harleys to Gull Wings, Ferraris to Bentleys, you'll see them all in the RB Sunrise Freedom Ride.
RB Sunrise Rotary members take great pride in donating a large percentage of their philanthropic funds each year to support military families, and plans for 2007 are no different.
This year we're working hard to support many local projects, such as Family Literacy, Scouting, Joslyn Senior Center and Teen Suicide Prevention.
But we can't do it alone. We need your help!
Anyone interested in sponsoring this event should contact Brian Habib at 858-521-7209 or Alison Farrin at 858-748-6500, ext. 107. Checks should be made payable to the Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary. Mail the registration form (make sure to sign the release form at the bottom) to the attention of Freedom Ride at 12451 Danielson Street, Poway, CA 92064.
