Funky noise coming from my rear.

A couple of weeks ago I was doing some spirited accelerating and as I hit 2nd gear and the tires broke loose I hit a rut. There was a very audible noise in the back that sounded like metal snapping.Everything on the Bullitt feels fine but I can hear a light rubbing type noise in the back when I'm cruising.Any thoughts on what it could be?I've got an appointment at the dealer on Wednesday.

There is a TSB out for the rear ends on 07's....maybe yours is included too....

I will try to find it. Mine makes some noise also, but I was just going to let it fail under warranty and then deal with it.

Dude, I know you're a great guy and everything, and you're real personable, generous, fun to be around, and even close to being in my age group (extra 10 respect points) but when you title a thread "FUNKY NOISE COMING FROM MY REAR"....

Well, you're just asking for it!

But seriously....Does the sound change as speed increases or decreases or is it constant?

First thing to check for on a rub is the location. Is it coming from the left, right or center. Center could be a tooth problem. Left or right is a wheel rub or a bent axle. To check for the bent axle, have someone drive away from you and see if there is a noticeable wabble in the tire. Either way, blame it on FORD and have them fiix the car!!!

live axle rear? try inspecting your upper control arm bushings, if everything looks okay from the outside, try tightening the bolts of the upper control arms. sometimes those come loose and make exacly that noise.

So is the problem fixed???

When I am doing about 65 get on it a litle and let off I can feel the ass end walk around on my car. I have up graded everything though so I am going to replace my lower control arm bushings for the 2nd time. I can hear the arms moving around on a heavy load and I got a little wheel hop the other day. :)
