Most of the guys have told you dont fear the gear. This is true. If I where you I would not go from a 3:73 to 4:10 its not worth the time or money to move up to that size. You will not feel that much performance. If I where you I would go 4:30 or 4:56. I went from 3:55 to 4:10 now I want 4:56

Yes it's a shame that all this new technology isn't getting people anywhere. Top drag racers are still using those old pushrod motors....hmmmmmm

i definatly started this way and i still like it this way hahahah if i could i would sell my 06 and pick up another 66 in a heartbeat

well if he wants to go from 3:73 to 4:10's it makes sense to me.. it could shave an easy 2 tenths in the quarter... it wont be that big of a change for him but in a manual the 4:10s are the way to go..

oh and phil you want 4:56 gears, because you only have a 8th mile track around you... if you still had a 1/4 mile track you would stay with the 4:10s...

I think instead of you going with 4:56 gears... you should go to a 26 inch tall tire not a 28...

i had a 95 mustang with 4.10s in it. bottom end torque for days. but you fall on your face in the top end. i have 3.73s and love the driveability compared to my 4.10s in my other car. racing or not 4.10s is the highest i would consider going. anything else and all your eggs are in one basket, like the 0-100 basket. i like still pulling hard over 100mph if i want to. just my opinion though.

That 95 was a pushrod motor.. He has a modular motor which they love high rpm and does needs more gear...

As most have already said on here, Don't Fear The Gear. I wouldn't put any less than a 4:30 gear on that car. I feared the gear once. I had 4:10's on my 01 Cobra. I wish would have gone 4:30. I did ended up with a Vortech supercharger on it afterward so the 4:10 ended up being alot of fun. N/A I should have gone 4:30.
