Mine hooks fairly well on the street but not at the Q at all. I dunno...... I only have the Nitto 555 ZR's. They are great for the street but just dont have the gripping power for an all out drag. My next set will be Nitto DR's. I would like to get some 315's under there but dont really know.

I made two passes with DR's and hooked fairly well after first gear. I made two passes with the stock Pirellis and melted them through third. My buddy here has a set of slicks 29.5 x 9.5 x 15 that he would give me if I had something to mount them on, but I can't find anything reasonable that will fit an S197 yet. I would love to find a set of Draglites for my car.

I honestly dont think anything but slicks will no kidding hold on mine but the DR's should be better. I know where I can get a set for fairly cheap if he still has them but they are only 275's I think.

I think it was Phill/Blackstallion that said the widest tire he could fit under his was a 285. He has an '06 like mine. I think they would look absolutely badass tubbed with a nice, short Dana or a 9 inch and some 15 inch-wide Weld Wheels and MT's... ahh, to dream. Your bodystyle is very condusive to a wide, meaty tire more so than mine I think.

I have heard that I have to shave down some IRS bolt to get the 315's to fit and would definately need to roll my fenders.

Yeah, that and the fact that the S197's have a straight axle rather than the IRS. Just makes my car go sideways quicker... LOL

I'd say no more than 4.10's if you have a high enough high gear in your tranny... other than that, 3.55's work good on the highyway.

For what it's worth, I drove mine to work today because it is an unusually cool, non-humid St. Louis summer day. I was just coming back from lunch a few minutes ago, and 66 Mustang Chick was with me with another friend behind us (he's a cop, btw), and I just know she was thinking about giving me **** for not getting on it the whole trip there and back, so I hammered it in first, went sideways, nailed second and went sideways the other way. The cool thing about really deep gears on the street is I never have to think about that first-to-second shift because it all happens in a couple of seconds.

with forced induction you have too much power for 4.10's, you go through gears too fast. with 3.73's you can stay in the gear longer and pull through it.
