Gears?

4.10s are too much if you drive on the road. its the different between say like 15mpg to maybe closer to 20mpg. and if you dont have the power its just quick off the gun. my 95 mustang had 4.10s and i would beat a lot of cars from a dig, for about a hundred feet, maybe 150ft. 3.73s are a nice well rounded gear. is it going to give you that same trap time as 4.10s? no. but you also wont be revving like crazy just driving. which doesnt seem like a problem til your putting gas in it. trust me i did a blower not worrying about gas, then i bought a bike so i didnt have to drive it it got so expensive.

No offense, this car I am not concerned about my fuel bill. Engine life is my worry.

well personally i'd go with 3.73's and make up the rest of the take off power with more hp and tq. then then you'll have the dig and the top end.

famous last words.lol. even from an engine wear and tear, if your driving around at higher rpms, its obviously harder on your car. a lot of guys go with 4.xx gears cause its cheaper than making more power. what happens is you get a car with a whole bunch of low end that falls on its face. even with 3.73s, sure i can get up to 140, 150, in 5th gear. just my opinion. some guys will swear on 4.10s. i had them and i never will again.

why dont you ride in a few cars with different gears and see what you like. mine and anthonys for example. same cars, identical power, but i have 410's and he has 373's

dont listen to these guys its 4.10's or go home. dont owrry about the mpg crap if you do sell the stang and get a honda. i had 3.73's and you dont even notice a difference really from my stock 3.27;s gears came in today and 4.10's are being put it.

I would suggest going with some NASCAR at Bristol Grears......like 6.65's or something like that?


Seriously though.......Will the 3.73's that you have fit in my car? Does anyone know?

If so what would you want for them? I am really wanting to go 3.55 but we will see.

who mine? that was before deployment 3.27's are back in right now until tomorrow but i could find a great deal for you. took forever for my gears to come in because i had them cryo'd

If the gears came from a 8.8 Ford rear end they should fit

becase emilio has a t-56, tranny gearing is different than a 5 speed. he can go with a 4.30 or 4.56 gear and be the same as me with 4.10's
