Get your house numbers painted on curbs!

I want to let everyone know that will make a difference when you call 911 or need someone at your house quick. Fourth of July I ran several 911 calls and the biggest challenge was trying to spot numbers on houses, it is *extremely difficult* at night. The biggest thing that helps is if you paint your house numbers on the curbs, or have them painted on with reflective paint. I know there are a few companies that do this for a small fee all over san diego. But this tiny little cheap thing allows us to find your house MUCH quicker in an emergency.

Just a little heads up :] Please pass this around, as it would make our jobs *much* easier and make our response *much* better for you all.

Ok, now you go tell this to the Southeast Area. LOL! They don't even have porch light there. But the good thing there is we already know the houses 'cause we raid enough of them there. LMAO!!!!

But seriously, great advise!

I also hate street signs that aren't lit up on major streets! Like seriously! Can't cities afford that little thing!?

I dont think housing would let us but they do in fact show our numbers under lights. The dont change the bulbs when they go out like every other month though.

If you contact the Boy Scouts of America, often they run fundraisers where they will paint them for you, for a small donation.

I was a Cub Master up til '03 and we did several throughout one year

In places where there's HOA's, you can usually see the numbers pretty easily though and they are all in the same spot so you don't have to search for them in a different spot on each house! But curb numbers would still help a lot. But aren't needed as much there.

Nope, cities are broke. May need candles again. LOL!

It's amazing how something like that is over looked when installing street lights. It's nice though, when running code, our steady red's usually illuminate the signs if they're actually reflective! I started out using GPS to run to calls, but it's too slow! :p So now it's all about the Thomas Bro's!

Yeah, places like Tierrasanta are real good about this.
