Got car tuned today.....

As many of you know, I had 4.30 gears put on on Sunday. Today, I took it to Dante's and had her tuned. Dante uses the Mustang Dyno. The results are:

Max: 238
Torque: 277
A/F: 12.5

So with the numbers and add the 15% difference from the Mustang Dyno:

277 rwhp
318 torque

Thats a 30 rwhp and 48 torque gained from my previous dyno at JBA. Plan to dyno at JBA tomorrow to compare the numbers from the first dyno.

Dante also found my thermostat was going bad, so I replaced it with a new one. And add the tunes to my tuner. The car is running awesome. I can feel the gear at each light. But most of all, I'm happy with the numbers at the level of mod I'm at. So, will see tomorrow how the numbers compare to the first time.

I'm glad your happy and I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but once again I see the 12.5:1 A/F!

It's perfectly safe to run 13.0-13.2 Your car has more in it. Does he even attempt to see what the car will do with a leaner A/F ratio?

Glad your stoked though and can't wait to see you smiling at Barona!

He actually did say it can go leaner, but I decided to stay at the 12.5 level at this time. Who know, maybe down the line, I'll decide to go leaner, just not right now.

And you're right, I can't wait til the next run at Barona. I want to feel that launch. But want to make sure I break those gears in properly first.

He is scaring you guys into thinking that anything leaner than 12.5 is dangerous and it's not! 13-13.2 is where most cars will make max power and it's still safe!

What octane is in your car?

The true test will be at the track. I wouldn't waste anymore money at JBA's dyno. What's the point? Track times will tell the tale.

Look, I'm not taking sides on this one. The truth is, Dante is very conservative with his tunes. It's not a bad thing, but everyone should know what their car is capable of. Orange, thanks for posting the A/F ratio possibilities and Danny thanks for explaining your reasoning for the 12.5 to 1.

Dont fear the gear and
Dont fear the A/F

Spercharged cars should be in the neiborhood of 11.5-11.8 @ WOT. 14:1 is going to blow something up.
